After many years of working in skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and retirement communities, Todd O'Neill founded Empowered Aging Solutions (EAS) on a simple idea: help people live in their homes safely for as long as possible. EAS provides comprehensive services designed to do just that, while decreasing stress and anxiety for clients and their families.
Empowered Aging Solutions is the premier aging in place service provider in the Raleigh area. Our team of Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants brings decades of experience from a variety of healthcare settings, specializing in geriatric care. Todd O'Neill, the owner/operator of EAS, is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Home Builders Association (NAHB). He combines his experience as a therapist with knowledge of Universal Design to build or remodel living spaces. Todd is also a certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA). This allows him to assess and help procure the appropriate technology and address clients' mobility needs.
EAS therapists assess clients' strength, range of motion, balance, and functional movement in the comfort of their own home. Following the initial, in-home assessment, the therapist develops a custom plan of care with the client based on their specific goals. The EAS team then provides treatments and wellness exercises, ranging from stretching to balance training, manual treatments to massage/mobilization. Each treatment and wellness session is geared toward helping clients and their families reach their fullest potential.
Todd O'Neill provides comprehensive home assessments that literally start at the curb, and ultimately encompass all areas of indoor and outdoor living. A full written report is generated and recommendations are provided to the client, which focus on three key areas: 1) Items to be fixed/adjusted immediately,; 2) Items to address in the near future; and 3) Future considerations . The goal is to ensure each home is accessible, safe and efficient for aging in place.
As a certified ATP, Todd O'Neill assesses mobility needs and helps clients and their families choose the right assistive products or services to help improve mobility. We coordinate procurement of assistive devices with a wide range of suppliers, and we work directly with Dressen Medical Supply to procure assistive devices for clients, including, but not limited to, braces, orthoses, canes/crutches/walkers, shower seats, commodes, and manual or power wheelchairs,
The team at EAS helps clients and their families coordinate aging in place services with other healthcare professionals, home health providers, realtors, and builders/engineers/designers. From coordinating care plans with doctors and finding caregivers or companions, to working closely with builders on remodeling efforts or helping realtors find safe living spaces, we help clients and their families build the right teams for safe and efficient aging in place.
